Fighting the loss of our Green Belt

Wednesday, September 15, 2021

With 350 houses and a school planned for Harts Farm fields and now the farm and stables as well, we must be strident in fighting the loss of our green belt.

The public consultation on the Draft Local Plan opens on Monday 11 October and we will have just six weeks to make the most robust stand against the unsuitability of the site on environmental and planning grounds.

The Little Bushey Community committee has met and is progressing a plan to challenge the proposals and is urging residents to get behind this.

We are currently updating the evidence submitted in response to the Planning for Growth document published in 2018 where we made a clear case for not releasing this land from the green belt on the basis of traffic levels, flooding, loss of wildlife and lack of sustainability.

We’ll be launching the campaign with a public meeting and new website, but please get in touch now through our contact page, especially if you have the commitment and enthusiasm to join us on the committee.
